about

I came to embrace photography professionally in 2002.  I’ve shot all kinds of pictures – from weddings to kids and pets – but my first love was landscape photography. And I still find that walking alone through the woods with my camera slung over my shoulder is the very best therapy for coping with a crazy world.  Because this kind of work has been such a big part of what I do, there are several galleries here that feature my landscape work.  I hope you’ll take a look.

These days, however, I focus more on photographing people, their pets, and the milestone events in their lives.  I have become more and more passionate about this kind of personal photography.  The enduring memories in our lives have special value to us – we treasure those times because they help to define who we are.  I take a photo-journalistic approach to capturing images that chronicle in a unique way the special moments in your life – your wedding… your baby’s first steps… your toddler’s big smile and fascination with the world… your son’s senior year in high school… your daughter’s wedding… your newest grandchild.  These poignant moments will come and go in a flash.  But images of these moments will become cherished memories for a lifetime.  So, it is important to capture the very best pictures possible.  That is what Photography Impressions and this website are all about.

One of my passions is pet photography.  We love our pets like members of the family, but they are only with us for a short time.  All the more reason to focus on capturing the memories while we can!  It is my desire to capture images of your pet that will display the engaging personality and essence that you love so much.

I invite you to explore my website in detail to learn more about the fun photography services I make available for you and the family or pets you love.  I offer private photo shoots throughout the Tri-Cities area of upper east TN and southwest VA.  I also offer a wide array of photo products – prints on professional metallic paper, either sleek and simple (unmounted), or already framed behind glass; and elegant wall hangings – canvas gallery wraps, floating mounts, standouts, and framed floating mounts.  Poke around a bit on my website to learn more.  Enjoy!
